News from the FHIR DevDays in Amsterdam

Publication date: Dec 15, 2016

What was newsworthy at the 2016 FHIR DevDays ?

The video recordings of all presentations held at the 2016 FHIR DevDays have been made publicly available. Dozens and dozens of sessions and tutorials, so to make sense of it all I've selected a couple of videos in the category "news". Of course this is a personal selection - the three videos below cover news that has a relatively wide ranging impact.

Of course, there's STU3, the upcoming version of FHIR. Grahame covers the differences between DSTU 2 and STU 3 in this presentation:

What's new in STU3 (Grahame Grieve)

At the invitation of Grahame and other core team members Mohammad presented a pragmatic (a word we love in the context of FHIR) way of dealing with apteint consents. It's simple and sweet, which is why I like it, and also why it will be implemented this way in FHIR:

Patient consent (Mohammad Al-UBaydi)

The Future of FHIR

Grahame's closing keynote is always a highlight - and it mostly covers a wide range of issues. This year topics included the value of the FHIR community. See this blog post for a transcription. This time around he also spoke about Alt-Health and how it relates to the FHIR community.
